Ceylon 1912 x **500 Rupee** Dull Green KGV - super rare Cat £750 for just $A499 – A super scarce KGV mega high value - from the entire Commonwealth. Never had this one before. Multiple Crown CA watermark, on the chalk faced paper, as with all their high values. Attractive looking unused, with nice bright unrubbed colour after 111 years, and good perfs, superbly printed by De La Rue in London. 500 Rupees was probably a £20 Kangaroo, not a £2 Roo type face value! As evidence - their highest Queen Victoria face value was just the 1899, R2.25! SG 322 normal mint is £8,500=$A17,000 and SG even lists FISCAL cancels at £400(!!) - so a 'SPECIMEN' is the only viable option clearly, and only 500 of these were ever made, and all were forwarded to UPU countries, where most still reside in Archive collections. SG 322s, £750=$A1,500. An increasingly sought after country. $1,000 UNDER Gibbons. Show me anoher for sale GLOBALLY at ANY price! You cannot. $US330 at $A499 - Stock 697JC
